چکیده

Compared to standard Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), EDMR has proven to be a more sensitive method in detecting paramagnetic states in semiconductors. If certain transport processes like recombination or hopping are spin-dependent, they can be detected by EDMR via resonant changes in the conductivity of the sample under ESR conditions. The application of this technique to electronic devices is particularly interesting because performance limitations in electrical transport can be correlated with recombination processes due to defects. In addition, the microscopic structure of such defects can be determined from the resonance spectra observed.

Coherent defect spectroscopy with pulsed optically and electrically detected magnetic resonance

A short review of the theoretical and experimental foundations of pulsed optically and electrically detected magnetic resonance (pODMR and pEDMR, respectively) as well as their fields of applications is given. In comparison to electron spin resonance spectroscopy, ODMR and EDMR can be 8-10 orders of magnitude more sensitive which make them particularly useful for the investigation of defects in...

Multi-frequency EDMR applied to microcrystalline thin-film silicon solar cells.

Pulsed multi-frequency electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) at X-, Q- and W-Band (9.7, 34, and 94GHz) was applied to investigate paramagnetic centers in microcrystalline silicon thin-film solar cells under illumination. The EDMR spectra are decomposed into resonances of conduction band tail states (e states) and phosphorus donor states (P states) from the amorphous layer and localize...

Plasmon-enhanced Electrically Light-emitting from ZnO Nanorod Arrays/p-GaN Heterostructure Devices

Effective and bright light-emitting-diodes (LEDs) have attracted broad interests in fundamental research and industrial application, especially on short wavelength LEDs. In this paper, a well aligned ZnO nanorod arrays grown on the p-GaN substrate to form a heterostructured light-emitting diode and Al nanoparticles (NPs) were decorated to improve the electroluminescence performance. More than 3...

Angular-Dependent EDMR Linewidth for Spin-Dependent Space-Charge-Limited Conduction in a Polycrystalline Pentacene

Spin-dependent space-charge-limited carrier conduction in a Schottky barrier diode using polycrystalline p-type π-conjugated molecular pentacene is explored using multiple-frequency electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) spectroscopy with a variable-angle configuration. The measured EDMR spectra are decomposed into two components derived, respectively, from mobile and trapped positive ...
